The state can be divided into two distinct hypsographical regions: Gangetic Plain and Vindhya Hills. Uttar Pradesh experiences a sub-tropical climate, with hot summers and cold winters. Summer season reaches the state in the month of the April and ends in June. Rainy season starts from late June and remains till the month of September. From the month of October winter starts and ends by the month of February. The most favorable time to visit U.P. is from October to March. Places to Visit: Air: Uttar Pradesh has no international airport; instead there are four domestic airports in Agra, Varanasi, Lucknow and Kanpur.
